YOU'RE NOT SHOWING UP!

Right now, your company’s search results are not showing up on the top page, and maybe not at all. We will fix that, and you will be marching toward the top of Google search results in no time. First, let’s define search options and talk some theory. When you are familiar with the terminology, we should talk about whether SEO or Google Ads make sense for your company. Spoiler alert, the answer is not always yes!

Theory 1: SEO

SEO and Google Ads are two different worlds. SEO is organic search that works by the synergy of 256 moving parts within Google’s Search Algorithm. Your website must be optimized, keywords perfected, and backlinks networked for your company name to reach the top page. You pay WGi for this SEO service at a set fee per month, that amount depends on your product/service popularity and geography. We have billed from $300 per month/location for national chains to $6000 per month for financial products.

Theory 2: Google Ads

Google Ads are paid search results that we pay direct to Google on your behalf. These can be search keywords or actual search result ads. The cost is based on a proximity auction, where we bid for top results position in your selected geography. Google charges a fee each time your ad or keyword-generated results show up. We can set a campaign to provide results for a certain spend per day, week or month. Say you want to spend $3000/month, you would show on search results for as long as your $100/day lasted (30 days in a month). The $100 might last the entire day, or only a few hours, depending on the popularity of your industry, and your account is budgeted for another $100 the next day, and so on.

Theory 3: Google Business

A third type of search ad is Google Business, which is free, and we will help you set this up. These are the search results that show a map and pin points of select businesses on a rotating basis and is best for local retail.

What is the general consensus?

In general, SEO is less expensive over time than Google Ads, but an SEO campaign may take 6 months to ramp up to great results. Google Ads, although more expensive per website visit than SEO, can have immediate results. So, the choice is really about budget, commitment and the time frame you are willing to wait.

The Last Thing You Need To Know

While SEO will always work in theory, it may not always be practical. For example, we have seen Nationwide Insurance Company on page 10 of Google results, so imagine the amount of money needed to move a national insurance company to the top of Google results.

On the flip side, if you are in a lesser-known industry and you have a unique product, we can move you to the top of Google results with relative ease and a minimal loss of blood and riches.

Likewise, if you are selling pizza or cutting hair you will want to use Google Business for free, and the phone will start ringing. If you are trying to gain clients purchasing a $50,000 piece of equipment, you definitely want to get ahead of your competition in search results.

This isn’t an easy subject, but that’s why you hire WGi to take care of this. If you want to sell your business someday, this is a great investment to boost your value metrics and even out sales over the full year.
